The platform is designed for breadth in concept and discipline in execution: protected by a staged patent strategy, and proven out one application at a time.
Our first product is the Vacuum Electron Acceleration Device (VEAD), a solid-state device that converts heat directly into electricity — with no turbines, no working fluids, and no moving parts. VEAD targets the global waste-heat recovery market: roughly two-thirds of the world’s primary energy is rejected as waste heat. Conventional approaches to recovering it — steam cycles, thermoelectric modules, organic Rankine systems — are each constrained by moving machinery, large temperature differentials, or limited efficiency per dollar. Our approach is to convert thermal and electrostatic energy directly into electricity using a vacuum electron device whose only motion is the flight of electrons across a vacuum gap.
The underlying physics has been understood for nearly a century. What’s new is the engineering — the specific combination of materials, geometry, and operating regime that finally drives the per-particle energy budget orders of magnitude below the energy each particle delivers. The same engineering discipline applies across the platform.

VEAD’s near-term target is the global market for waste-heat recovery and direct energy conversion — measured in the hundreds of billions of dollars. A solid-state, no-moving-parts device, manufacturable as a sealed unit, opens applications where conventional approaches struggle: industrial process-heat recovery, distributed power, remote and harsh-environment installations, defense systems, and space platforms — wherever reliability, longevity, and mass matter most.
Beyond VEAD, the same static-field acceleration architecture has natural applications across electric propulsion for space platforms and compact radiation sources. The platform is the long-term value; VEAD is how we prove it works.
Stellar Arc Systems was founded in Fremont, Ohio by Jerry Semer, an inventor and semi-retired patent attorney with deep experience in technology development and intellectual-property strategy.
